Children's
Ministry
Children are important at Chapel Hill Christian Church. The
goals of our children's ministry are: to insure that every
child that comes to Chapel Hill Christian Church is welcomed, nurtured,
and respected and to provide opportunities for children to grow
in their love of God and neighbor.
To accomplish these goals we offer the following opportunities. Our
children's program continues to grow and change to meet the needs
of our children
During worship each week we have a participatory children's sermon. Sometimes,
Pastor Mike or Rebecca talk with the children, sometimes Sarah
Froeber reads a story to the children, sometimes Silva Stumpf teaches
the children a new song.
During our Adult Sermon, our children spend time indoors or outside
with Greg Watrous or Silva Stumpf. Both Greg and Silva work
in child care and have combined experience of 25 years!
This year we celebrated Scout Sunday on February 7. Samuel Parrish
wrote a Gathering Song for that day.
Hi, hi, hi to you
Hi to you today
Come,come,come with me
Come with me and pray!
Each year our children participate in the Blessing of the Backpacks,
this is a special worship service for children of all ages near
the beginning of the school year. Children bring their own
backpacks to be blessed and we collect school supplies for the
children of Project Homestart.
Our children also participate in service projects such as help
packages for natural disasters, and growing tomatoes for IFC.
We provide a pastors class for children seeking baptism and church
membership. |
